The Department of Psychology at Salve Regina University offers programs leading to either a Bachelor of Arts(BA) Major or Minor. Students studying for a Major are required to take 39 semester hours in psychology which include both elective and required courses. Matriculated students who begin their studies at Salve as Freshman and wish to declare a MAJOR in this subject must have earned (or be in the process of earning) a C(2.0) in a psychology course at the time they declare. Students, including students in PSY 100 as a first course, may declare their major midsemester at the time set aside for registering for a subsequent semester. Freshman are also advised to use biology courses to fulfill their university science component and to fulfill their university math requirement at the minimum level of MTH 170, Contemporary Math and its Applications.

For the Minor in psychology, students take 18 semester hours of study in courses of their choosing.

For complete details and a list of required courses go to the requirements page linked at the left. Questions may be directed to the chairman via e-mail by clicking on his name below.

This page is not an official page of Salve Regina University. It was created--and is still maintained-- for the Department of Psychology by Anthony A. Walsh to be a part of a larger web site devoted to psychology and other matters that he first put on line in January, 1996. These redesigned pages went on line November 5th, 1999.
